Let joy be your continual feast. Make your life a prayer, And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God's perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus. - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Prayer

Philippians 4 v 6-7Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell Him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ.

God is interested in every part of our lives. There is nothing too great or too small to catch His attention. He is the loving Father who can sort things out and the Friend who sticks close by through thick and thin.

God does not want to be confined to the ‘Sunday’ part of our lives. We are encouraged to take everything to God in prayer throughout the day; making Him part of every activity we do and every decision we make, seeking His direction and guidance in all things. He even gives us His peace so that we don’t need to get worried and fretful.

Philippians 4 v 8So keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honourable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising Him always.

How we think affects how we feel. So as we fix our thoughts on the glorious work of God it helps stop our minds from wondering down more depressing routes and builds up our faith that God is both willing and able to help us in our times of need.
